It may seem a bit unusual to list our worship service as a healing ministry, but I think it would be a mistake not to. While any group or service has some element of healing ministry due to the work of the Holy Spirit, I do think our church services often put special emphasis on this. Our mission is to reach broken people for Christ. In some sense, we are all broken due to the sin in our lives. But our church is centered around this mission and our services will reflect that. We often have sermon series about our brokenness and ways God provides healing and growth for hurting people.
It doesn’t matter to us if you just come for a certain series that you have interest in. You don’t have to be part of our church to attend. I believe you will be welcomed and loved for whenever you decide to come.

Waves of Freedom
Waves of Freedom is a healing prayer and deliverance ministry hosted by Hillside Wesleyan Church. It is a covenant partner with Wellsprings of Freedom International (WFI) and has been trained, equipped and coached by WFI approved leaders.
Wellsprings of Freedom International exists to help wounded, tormented, and spiritually oppressed individuals find freedom, hope, and restoration through the power of Jesus Christ. Through loving and gentle freedom sessions, worship, biblical advice, and the application of God’s authority and Word, broken and hurting people find freedom from deep emotional wounds, addictions, fears, and oppression. Our desire is to take this freedom ministry to the world by training and equipping the global church, and by establishing teams of deliverance at home and around the world. (WFI mission statement)
Yet for many of us – even as followers of Jesus – while we know these things to be true, we have not experienced the fullness of that freedom. We struggle with the same thoughts, addictions, fears and bondages we did before we chose to follow Christ. We feel stuck in the past, carrying the heavy weights of what we did or what “was done to us”. The truth of our identity in Christ is hidden under the dark veil of lies that we believe about ourselves, others and God.
During our Waves of Freedom sessions, we combine inner-healing and spiritual warfare prayer that allows people to walk in long-term freedom in Christ. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we help persons to pull up the roots of pain, betrayal, mistrust, abandonment, and rejection in their lives that have been created by wounds or deep hurts. We carefully walk through any areas of unforgiveness and bitterness that may be present in a client’s life. Debilitating lies that clients have believed are exposed and the Holy Spirit speaks His life-transforming truth.
All of this is done in the context of what we call “freedom sessions.” Freedom sessions are three-hour prayer sessions facilitated by a loving team of trained volunteers with various spiritual gifts to help a client experience spiritual freedom. It’s gentle, loving, powerful, and life changing!
Freedom sessions are conducted at Hillside Wesleyan after clients have participated in an orientation. Orientations can be done online or at Hillside. If you are interested in a session or in learning more about this ministry please contact Pastor Dan Todd (email@example.com, 716-790-2141).
